Just received a Kirby G4 in the mail courtesy of Les (thank you) for unclenching your fingers long enough to part ways with this soon to be beautiful machine not only aesthetically but mechanically as well. I'm delving into polishing now and will deal with the bearings and tec drive as I dig deeper.
I've only been active in vacuum restoration for a short time, my parents had a heritage ii that was sadly donated to an apartment complex after my brother forgot to take it with him when he moved out of his college apartment. I started with a kirby tradition (1979)which has an ball bearing brush roll and has been updated to hepa with.existing shake out bag i converted by installing a zipper and mounting the bag on backwards (amazing how much flak you get for installing the bag backwards but oh well)
