Hey everyone! I recently purchased a refurbished Kirby G5. It's a beautiful vacuum and works great, but when I use it on carpet and put it in "drive" mode it makes this grinding noise that sounds like metal is being sharpened. I've watched a couple of demo videos on Youtube and found that a lot of the G series Kirby's make this noise. Also, when the vacuum is off, the wheels make a clicking noise when I transport it from room to room. Are these noises common or should I have the vacuum checked out? Any feedback or advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

Or,

There could just be Pony action figures stuck in the transmission. But since that's likely not the case, I'm sure there's plenty of videos diagnosing and instructing repair, have you not watched some already? it's not too complicated of a mechanism. I have a spare one in the garage I yanked out of a bad shape G4 in the event you do require one, but I would strongly recommend saving yourself time and money by looking into this problem further.

Thanks for the advice guys. I'll see if I can find some instructional videos and try to fix it myself. If not, I'll look into getting it rebuilt. Thanks again!
