I've been given a recon G2000 / Gsix for Christmas and it came with a tool set and carpet washer kit. Looking around for information on the washer, it appears that the brush roll for washing is also used for fluffing up the pile on carpets. I was wondering if the same brush is used for buffing hard floors, or if a seperate brush should be used? I don't intend to use the washer or the brush for fluffing carpets as I've got a Bissell Big Green commercial machine for proper carpet washing. I was more wondering if the washing/fluffing brush would be man enough for buffing really.

Apart from that, I'm rather impressed by this shiny steam roller of a cleaner. My first Kirby!

<span style="font-size: medium; font-family: book antiqua, palatino;">If you want to use the Kirby to polish hard floors your going to have to get hold of the correct roller that comes with the "Floor care kit" and NOT the "Shampoo system."</span>

<span style="font-size: medium; font-family: book antiqua, palatino;">You will also have to get the wax roller/applicator which you apply to the hard floor 1st before polishing.</span>

<span style="font-size: medium; font-family: book antiqua, palatino;">If you need help on what to do the Kirby company have the Gsix video on youtube so you can see what you need to do.

Thanks for that. I thought it would be the case. I'd already seen the Gsix video guide, but it never explicitly mentioned a seperate brush roller for buffing. I'll keep an eye out on ebay for any local ones.

Next job.. investigate an odd clicking that sometimes happens when the machine is pulled along in Neutral. Already found thread

so this will keep me occupied tonight :)
