Ive heard that metal fans generate more suction, but I cant find any differences in the suction between my Sanitronics and my Tradition. Opinions?

Well each is kind of a win/win- lose/lose situation. A metal fan can generate more suction, but its heavier. If the motor isn't powerful enough, it wont spin it to its highest potential.

The lexan fan (which I believe the tradition did not come with- I think it might be plastic- that was a later improvement [or was that kevlar?]) Is light weight and can spin quite a bit faster.

I think the diffrences in the two fans is the blade height-the blades on the metal fans are higher-Thuis can move more air-and will put more of a load on the motor. If someone has the two fans-compare thewm and see.I think the motor loading is really more of the height and pitch of the blades rather than the weight or material of the fan.I would love to see fans and fancases made of Titanium-Kirby could do this-then no worry of what you pick up.and the titanium fan housing can be polished to a nice gold color.titanium is getting less expensive and more tools available to work it.has been the mainstay of the aircraft and racing industries for years.Troy Built has a titanium chopper blade in their new line of leaf blowers-so if you use it as a leaf vacuum-the titanium blade shreds the leaves or whatever you pick up-before it goes to the plastic fan.
