kirby fan replacement

hello all. i just acquired a ds50 with a cracked fan and was wondering if the lexan fans are as good as the metal. i would love to get an original metal fan for it but it doesn't look like an easy find.

I have rebuilt and repaired MANY Kirbys over the past 12 years and I like the Lexon fans, they're durable and seem to hold up better than the metal fans. I think it's just fine for you to use one.

While the metal fans move more air and improve the performance of Kirbys from the 516 to the G4, they're scarce, I'm lucky to have two (one I bought, one given to me by a good friend), so you're better off getting the current fans available, at least until you get lucky and acquire a metal fan...

If you want a metal fan, buy a D50 parts machine for a few bucks with a good fan. D50's are plentiful
