Kirby - Electrolux - Royal Anniversary - Fisher

I picked a handful of vaccums.

Kirby's and attachements in boxes
Electrolux
Royal Anniversary
and a lady gave me a Fisher
Electrostatic sweeper that is in
great shape.

Can anyone shine some light on if I have a bunch of junk or
are any of these keepers, etc.

Royal Anniversary Edition

Is your Royal Anniversary Edition a model 8801AE (1991-1995) or an 89130 (1995-2001)? I'm hedging my bet toward the 8801AE.

Different motor sizes/types: the 8801AE uses a 6.0 amp non-drop-in motor whereas the 89130 uses a 9.0 amp drop-in "screamer" motor.

You didn't say whether or not they run or how well they run, but to answer your question, I'd say if they run good they're ALL keepers! A good polishing and the Kirbys & the Royal will be beautiful! The Lux already looks pretty good from what I can see in the pic. I also noticed you have instruction books for the Kirby Omega and the Electrolux E, that's always a plus.

Royal Anniversary Edition

I am not sure. It is at my warehouse right now.

One of my pictures shows that it only has a 2 prong electrical cord. (when did they turn to a 3-prong)?

And it says commercial duty 4 yr. factory warranty on it.

Some of the household Royals did use a 3-wire cord but very few of them (less than one percent) would have been specified with such (3-wire cords are used mainly on commercial-duty models). A household-grade Royal with a 3-wire cord would have a "T" appended to its model # (e.g. 882T, 8801AET, 89130T, 89135T, 4000T) or, in the early days, a "3-" prefix (e.g. 3-153, 3-501, 3-602, 3-604, 3-801).

Kirby - Electrolux - Royal Anniversary - Fisher

Not sure how well they run. I need to get to my warehouse
to test them. I also had no idea there was so many models. I
will find all of the model numbers etc. From what I know the
lady that had the Royal said it's in brand new shape. She
got it for a present years ago and it was to heavy for her to use.
Came with a new dust bag still in it's wrapper.

I love the look of that Royal!!

The Kirby and Royal look pretty good to me. I'm sure the other 2 are good as well, but being picky myself and more a liking towards 1980-2000 machines, that Royal looks gorgeous and is most likely very valuable!!!!

I've never owned a Royal, I think I'd be proud proud to own that. I'd have to test drive it someday!!

Date code reads "I98" which is September 1998. Model is #89135C. This one is a "screamer" with its 9-amp motor.

When you say it's a "Screamer" Is that a good thing or a bad thing.

Screamer...like it's powerful....or screamer like it's loud...

"Screamer" refers to both loud and powerful. The 9amp Royals sound like they are in a race to vacuum every bit of dust from the carpet as fast as possible! I have a similar model 2000 with an 8.7 amp drop in motor, and while all of my other lower rated Royals (2.8, 3.0, 4.5, 6.0,7.5, and 8.0 amps) are more relaxed, the "green screamer" seems to pick up more dirt deep in the carpets than any of my Royals or Kirby's.

Kirby and Royal

First of all, the Electrolux canister has the wrong hose, the hose is a Electrolux Special Edition hose. Not saying I am judging, just pointing out that it is the wrong hose. I COMPLETELY recommend refurbishing the Kirby and the Royal I98 and the Kirby Classic 1-CR or Classic Omega 1-CS. Especially the Kirby Heritage 1-HD.
