I just got this owners manual for a Dual Sanitronic 80 and was wondering...even though the s/n isn't even close to the one on either of my D80s - how does Kirby check if and when you send it in for a rebuild? My D80 works great and I don't want it rebuilt, but I wondered how strict they are. If this s/n matches yours, let me know and I'll mail it to you for what it cost me.

Thanks!

Graham, I believe that Kirby keeps records of the machines it sells. If you send in a vacuum and you are not the original owner they will not do the re-build for the listed price. Kirby is happy to re-build your D80, but at a much higher cost than what is listed in the owner's manual that you have. If you check the internet you should be able to find the Customer Service phone number for Kirby and they should be able to give you info on having your machine 'factory re-built'.
