This is a long-shot question but for those of you that once worked on a Kirby COMVAC 1600 (or actually have one), I'm wondering if - because of it having a three-wire cord for commercial use - the internals in the motor are actually similar to the Kirby Classic 1CR including the bearing plate assembly that goes back to the mid-production 511 (from serial #383341), despite the Tradition-style headlight assembly, wheels and outer shell?
The CV1600 was also the first Kirby model since the 4R to use a switch on the handle, although in this case it is where the top cord hook is.
