Does anyone remember the first year Kirby offered its "Instant Suds" and "KGF-40 Concentrate"? They both appear to have first been sold with the 562, because the related Sanitronic VII also makes mention of these two products, but the 561 manual does not.

Here is a partial list of cleaning supplies:
Instant Suds (562 to present, reformulated with "Kirby Guard" after 1981)
KGF-40 Concentrate (562 to Classic 1CR)
Creme Wax (Classic Omega 1CB)
Odorific (Classic Omega 1CB to present)
Scuttle (Classic Omega 1CB to present, reformulated with "Kirby Guard" after 1981)
Carpet Fresh (Tradition 3CB to present, reformulated with "Kirby Guard" after 1981)

Ben, the Kirby carpet deodorizer was called the "Home Freshener."

The Instant Suds date back to the advent of the Suds-O-Gun, but were not called Instant Suds until 1962.

Alex,

The D50 was the first Kirby to feature the "Rug Renovator."

The KGF-40 concentrate was intended to fight airborne bacteria (the kind that makes us sick) on any surface wherever the germs may settle. You set up the Kirby for spray gun operation, putting three capfuls of the solution into the jar filled 3/4 full of warm water. It can also be used to deodorize the filter bag.
