Well I would like to to close to 200 +shipping but I'm thinking that that number isn't too realistic so please make me an offer

Hi Hoover94

That sounds like a very reasonable price. Please look into the cost of shipping UPS to Benton, Pa.

Do you know how to pack the Classic 111 in the main box? if not I can send instructions as I used to sell Kirby's and packed many Classic 111's. It also needs to be in a seperate box to keeep the main Kirby box free of stickers, tape etc..

Please send me an email at [email protected] for form of payment.

Alex Taber.

yes sir

will do. i have absolutely no idea how to pack it. im thinkin that its not that hard but i dont see how it will all fit. ill send you an e mail when i get the shipping straightened out.

Hi Hoover 94

Consider the Classic 111 sold! All I need to know is the exact cost including shipping. I need about a week to finalize things, so I'm thinking of a shipping date around March 10. We can work all this out via email. Please post a picture with the attachment box open, and the instruction book. It looks like a basic K&A Kirby and attachments. You said there is no Rug Renovator, or Handi-Butler, and I assume no Miracle-Head, not to worry, I have those in storage.

I really want that Kirby and feel that $200.00 plus shipping is a very fair cost.

Thanks,

Alex.

the only thing that i think that was bought as an extra is the shag king. i dont even think that it was ever used, same as the attachments. and what do you mean by k&a kirby?

Hi Hoover 94

The term K & A was used in the various Kirby branch office. It meant Kirby and attachmments. There was also K, A, and RR, or K, A, and HB. Selling the entire machine was called Kirby complete! So what I'm getting is the basic K & A.

I'm very pleased, and look forward to having a Classic 111 again.

Thanks,

Alex.

Kirby terms.

Kirby Complete. - The entire package, which was most of our sales.
K & A - Kirby and attachments. Which was the second most common.
K, A, & RR - Kirby, attachments, and Rug Renovator.
K, A, & HB - Kirby, attachments, and Handi-Butler.
K and RR - Kirby and Rug Renovator (no attachments).
K and HB - Kirby and Handi Butler (no attachments).
Basic Kirby - just the upright without anything else.

Terms.

The Rug Renovator included the Mirical Head, and the Handi-Waxer.

The Attachments included the box of tools, hose, Spray gun, floor duster (felt pad), and bare floor/ rug tool with swivle elbow.

In the early days the Shag Rake was standard, but once shag carpeting went out of fassion it was deleted and became an optional tool.

Needless to say, every sale was centered around the needs of the customer. A woman with hardwoods might need the upright, hose, attachments, and Mirical Head, but not the Rug Renovator. I also sold to a man who had a craftshop. He was going to buy just the upright, Handi-Butler and nothing else. I told him the hose and dusting brush could be used to vacuum up the sawdust on his workbench). In most cases we sold the upright, hose and attachments as a basic package and went from there. A common set up for people with hardwood floors was the upright with the Mirical Head instead of the standard nozzle, with that used for area rugs, upholstered furniture, mattress etc.. In fact this is the way I'll use my Classic 111 once I get the Mirical Head out of storage.

The combinations were endless.

Lol I see. My grandmother almost yelled at me when I drug the thug back home with me. I had traded my dyson dc21 for it(at an estate sale). It tur s out, that she actually had the same Kirby. She had voted everything that as avalible at the time, she couldn't hardly push it(bad backs run in the family) it went to my now ex uncle lol last I heard, he's still using it. In his workshop that is.

Actually, if memory serves

When I was a Kirby dealer, the Miracle Head and Waxer were packaged in the box with the K & A through the Tradition.  When the Heritage came out, it was then packaged with the Super Renovation Group (new name for Rug Renovator).  I believe they did that because until the Heritage, the Miracle Head and the Rug Renovator each had their own castings.  When the Heritage came  the Miracle Head and Rug Renovator shared the same casting  for both of the brushes.  Now with my Sentria, the Shampooer and the Waxer/Miracle Head are separate groups again. Oy!  Someone get them to make up their minds!  :-)

And if my memory serves right ,

the Handi-waxer was a new attachment which came out with the Classic 111. Prior to that it was the Roller-Waxer, which was outfitted with a long pole. The Handi-Waxer went on the end of the curved wand, followed with the straight wand. I have used both. I have a Roller-Waxer, and like it. As for the Handi Waxer, I find it anything but 'handy!' Our branch manager, Will Hart, didn't like the Handi-Waxer either. He felt, as most of us did, that it was a badly designed tool. So he often said. "If the guy who designed this thing was here right now I'd know exactly where I'd put it!"

I have hardwood floors that were treated with a pollyurathane, so they never need to be waxed, just vacuumed and washed. Actually I use a steamer. The Mirical Head will also be good to get up the dog hair on the area rugs, and fluff them. And with a golden retriever, there's a lot of dog fur!

I'm really excited about getting this Classic 111, Hoover 94 and I have agreed on a shipping date, which will be about 3 weeks from now. I'll post pictures when I get it, and hopefully he'll post pictures before he packs it. Maybe a picture of the tool box open.

Thanks again Hoover 94,

Alex Taber.
