On page 29 in the official Kirby Classic III instruction book, regarding bulb replacement, the second half of the paragraph about that suggests undertaking this kind of task is not recommended for the unskilled repairman:
"To assure continuing safety benefits of Kirby's double insulated motor, it is necessary that bulb replacement be done only by qualified Kirby authorized service personnel."

There right it is either 2 or 4 screws. I mean you need a trained professional with that.
To complicate that the bulb taking it out is a pushing or pulling (install,removal) almost a good half inch and then twisting bulb 45 degrees. You pray when you finally get screws installed during the process you didn't ruin filament in the bulb.
I have heard if not wired correctly the bulb won't even work.
Leave it to not just a Kirby professional. You want the best one there. Make sure he can walk and chew gum at the same time. That's how to know the best Kirby professional.
I bet changing a belt and brushroll they need Kirby experts too. Those dang 70s vacuums just so confusing. I hope there is a Kirby professional nest you.

On the Classic Omega and Classic III headlight caps, it is secured with two screws; on models Tradition through the Legend II, it has four securing it.
