My brother gave me a Kirby Classic 1-cr that still works great. What I need to know is what disposable filter bag does it use and where can I get them? There are no numbers on the bag except 216 which is stamped near the top of the bag. The bag in it now has a sleeve that is held on at the bottom of the machine with a spring type holder. The outer bag is a gold pin striped bag without any labels. This machine originally was owned by a friend of mine who bought it in the early 1970's. I would like to still use it if I can get more filter bags for it.

That sounds like it has the aftermarket conversion kit which allows it to use Eureka F&G bags. Kirby classic models were sold with a cloth shake out bag.

Eureka F&G bags should be available at your locak hardware store, wal-mart, or vac shop
