I have a Eureka Model 9; have always wanted a Model 10 because the Model 9 doesn't stand upright when you attach the hose.
Many years ago, before I started actively collecting here in Los Angeles, I was walking down a sidewalk in Beverly Hills. (I used to work in the area.) I came to a street corner and saw an older man up on a ladder vacuuming the fancy woodwork on top of his very ornate front picture window. He was using an old upright with a hose that at first I thought was a very old Kirby until I got closer and saw that it was not.
I asked him what brand it was and he said it was a Eureka -- it had belonged to his mother! I was too polite to ask him why he was vacuuming the outside of his house with it! This was Beverly Hills after all, where a lot of very kooky people live!
Looking back, I later realized it was a Model 10.
