Can someone please explain how to disassemble this style brush roll ? I tried to unscrew the end pieces but no luck they just rotate ? Thanks

I finally got it apart by pulling and twisting the end pieces. One end is just pressed into the long shaft running the length of the roll. Was amazed at how much hair was imbedded around the bearings. Lubed with some Remington gun oil and spins like new again....thanks everyone

Can anyone shed light on how to reinstall brush roll ? All I have is two long screws to fit the roll, is this all you use or am I missing some additional parts ?

Yes, just the two screws with rubber bushings hold it in. It is a friction-fit. The belt tension will hold it in place when in use.
If the roll is loose, then the rubber bushings could be worn, missing, or deteriorated. A small piece of automotive hose may work, or you could get new screws with bushings from your Kirby supplier.

After attaching the belt, adjust the screws so about 1/8" of the bristles protrude.

BTW, I would use small dabs of wheel bearing or lithium grease on the bearings since they are high-load areas. Gun oil is much too thin for this application.

Thanks for the information about the gun oil ! I will relube them. One of the screws is missing it’s rubber insulation

Can anyone point me to a exploded view of how brush roll is installed into the nozzle ? Confused on how screws are positioned
