Do any of you still have any bottled Kirby cleaning supplies over the years? These are becoming harder to find since there's the old adage that "a bottle, is a bottle, is a bottle."
I think the reason many Kirby bottled cleaning supplies are hard to find now is because the chemicals used for the bottle don't react kindly to the chemicals used for the cleaning solution. Early on, the Instant Suds had alkaline included in its formula, which necessitated the use of the Rug Protector pads starting from the Dual Sanitronic 50 up through the Tradition.
I have an empty bottle of Kirby Instant Suds that is from the era of the Classic 1CR; but since it lacks any mention of KGF40, that would lead me to believe this bottle was sold after the summer of 1971.
