Kirby Avalir with red trim

Help Support VacuumLand:

I'm thirsting for a completely new machine from Kirby, this same basic design had been made since 1989! Even Rainbow finally ditched the flat belt and went for a poly-V design.

I have to agree the red is a little bit much.
ITT:
Vacuums that have outlasted the design that companies continue to change color and barely face lift. I Oreck classic and Kirby G 10

Ok I would hate to think that this is Kirby's idea, to think that they can keep this model another 4 years or

so, by changing the bag topper to red and and give the black front wheels a red instead of gray stripe......and

take the 100th anniversary sticker off the handle bale.

Lets hope that's not the case......I am ready for a complete model change.

Maybe if they made ALL the trim and plastic accents red it would look cool, but as it is, it looks kind of silly (IMO it's a cheesy shade of red too). Go big or go home, Kirby!

Like I've said here before:

Kirby will not replace the current G10 Avalir with a completely new design until they can come up with one that out performs the current model. There are many top secret prototypes in existence at the Cleveland factory but none of them can beat the performance of the Avalir. Kirby is still working on prototypes.

The red is very cheesy. Kind of cheapens the look. Wonder what Kirby will come up with for their actual 100th anniversary in 2019? Remember Kirby's famous advertising phrase: "Sanitation to the Nation - since 1919". It appeared on all their magazine advertising. I've recently found several (as in five) Avalir's in various pawn shops for anywhere from $125 to $400. Sure hope they bring out a 'new' model soon.

Another new thing from Kirby.

Check this Genuine Kirby replacement outer bag for g-series and later vacuums.

My guess is that these will eventually become the only option for a replacement outer bag, much like what became of the options for getting a replacement shake out bag for earlier models. One color fits all.

This bag is grey; the colors that you see are simply logos that the seller photoshopped onto the picture.

Basic gray bag

It kind of makes sense. It's a neutral color/design that would more or less go with any Kirby made in the last 25 years or so and it would allow them to stock only two outer bags, the latest Avalir bag and the generic replacement. Besides, Kirby already has done this with replacement parts for pre-G models so one might even see it as an inevitable move.

That said, the generic gray bag would definitely look better with some machines than others. In my opinion, it would look best on machines that already have a gray color scheme (e.g., G3, G4, Ultimate G and Sentria). But I can see where some G5 and Gsix owners could be disappointed to send their machine in for a factory rebuild and have come back without the distinctive burgundy or black bag. That said, I personally have no objection to the look of the gray Ultimate G bag assembly I have on my G5, but the burgundy flecks in the fabric do help tie the look together.
