Hello everyone,
I've seen photos of an improved Case/Tote/Caddy for storing Kirby Avalir tools. In one photo I've seen, these have straps and compartments for the various attachments.

I'm hoping to be able to buy the bag separately, but I can't find it listed anywhere.

Does anyone know if I'll be able to buy one as a Spare Part?
And where I might find one?
Thanks in advance for your help.

take the 'improved case' with a grain of salt

FYI: I've had 2 of them, neither had compartments in the bag ....its just a cheap empty bag(shockingly, considering what Kirby Distributors are charging for their vac) that won't hold all the attachments and hose like the older plastic tote did. To your question, I haven't seen any for sale individually. If one WERE able to stuff the hose in there w/the attachments.....I question whether the zipper will hold out for long....plus the amount of time/work it would take to MAKE them fit. In my photo , I had to take out the zip brush and handle for the suds sprayer and still couldn't get it to close. IF you still want one, I understand, but it sounded like you haven't felt one in hand so I wanted to give you my take on them having had 2.

Thank-you so much! You've saved me a lot of grief.

When they're packed-out with cardboard for the photoshoot, they appear sturdy, and look tidy, with matching Kirby logo.

I suspected Kirby hadn't learned from previous design mistakes; hose half in, tubes strapped to the outside... but I was temporarily blinded by the bling-factor and the idea of compartments. Oh well.

The plastic caddies were little more than an open bucket, and the Tradition suitcase wasn't much better.

Remember the old Electrolux crates/trunks and cases?
They knew how to store attachments 100 years ago.

Thanks again for your help.
I'll avoid 'em.

Hmm

I'm not sure your shampoo system or any multi surface cleaner goes in the bag.
I think attachments tube like yours and hose attached to the bag.
I have 2 also there nothing special but I hated plastic caddy. This is by no means am upgrade.

I didn’t like it

When I bought my Avalir 2 I actually ask for the plastic tote instead. The bag they typically provide is very awkward and doesn’t hold the attachments well along with no place for the hose. I keep my plastic caddy mounted to the wall of my laundry room. If I need the attachments which I seldom do, they are right there.

Contacting Kirby

It was quite an ordeal trying to contact Kirby here in the UK, using their "Ask Our Team" link.
They want your life story (every field is mandatory) and they won't respond.

I called them.
Kirby said I should call Prime.
Gave me Prime's number.
Then hung-up.

Prime wouldn't answer any questions concerning Kirby products.
They want my Name, Postal Address, Telephone... before they'd even consider having someone call me back.

Extreme Phishing?

I wonder whether I called the right "Kirby"?

I was tempted to book a Home-Demonstration.
Show the rep. my Kirby line-up.
And say "I've already got quite a few".

Hey

I have had Kirby call me after I had a question on a product. Uk might be an issue but on 3 seperate occasions I've been called after leaving email message.
I do remember some kangaroo keeper I seen that mounts on a door holding attachments.
The only unique thing about new case is Kirby logo.

Hi Les,
I couldn't receive personal calls at my Client's offices during office-hours. It looks unprofessional. As I was on the phone already, I think that was their opportunity to handle my Sales Enquiry. Perhaps I'm old-fashioned?

A Kangaroo-Keeper or Shoe-Storage hanging thingy would do, I suppose. But I was anticipating a purpose-made storage solution, and the Kirby logo.

I'm now thinking I might repurpose an aluminium Camera Storage Case which has adjustable dividers, or a Nylon zip-up Holdall, with added internal elasticated straps? Either could accommodate Polishing Heads too.

I think they could of made it more interesting by colour in the Kirby logo the same colour as blue on the handle.

You're right. Colour co-coordinated would have been a nice touch.
I presume they've sourced a generic holdall manufacturer and just had their logo added post-production? Perhaps thinking Black will go with future models too?
If it was newly designed and purpose-made, it would surely have been larger and better.

Power Cords used to be part of the model's colour scheme too. Getting a new blue, maroon, or green cord now is impossible. Fabric-covered 5A flexes for lamps seems to be the only alternative.

in a way I kind of like the new caddy compare to the old plastic one. I say this because when i grew up using a kirby (g4 and then diamond edition) both had the plastic caddy and when i would need to use multiiple tools i would have to go back and forth to the caddy and grab them. With this new bag type of caddy people can carry it on their shoulders while using the kirby as a caniste. Granite kirby should make the bag more bigger that way all the tools AND hose could fit in it.

I wish kirby would make a blue machine, kind of like the limited edition misty blue kitchenaid mixer. Like the main color could be misty blue with white acsent pieces.

NO MORE grey and black kirby's... or at lease for a while.

kind of curious to what the next kirby will look like and what functions as well as any new attachments and accessories. God forbid it be another avalir (i mean sentria 5, or whatever)

I know I can remember getting so excited about the Avalir being launched then when I sore I was like oh
great just a sentria with a new handle and shampooer

Alan,

I kind of liked the old cardboard attachment box myself, that they used for models 508 to the early run of the Tradition.

I have read that the Kirby Kaddy (Heritage II since the spring of 1985, to early Avalir sales) was also a rather cheap design...

YEAH, the plastic caddy

is cheap, but I kinda like it.....it works....holds everything properly, it keeps all the attachments organized for the most part, I prefer it and the g series plastic holder to the bag of the Avalir years

Bag

It's a bag. They seriously could get a $30 bag throw there logo on it. If they had compartments for each item and had like a we link or link to order items.
It's a huge lost opportunity. The bag would run a few hundred dollars. Instead the avalir shampooer attachment is the king of their attachments.
I only say this because it's basically only difference between g series vacuums.
