i been trying to get a full set of all the genuine Kirby attachments the other day i got in the mail the attachment made for cleaning fan blades. in the box for the attachment there was an ad looks to be from early in the g series life it only shows g 3-5 the ad had a date of 1999. in the ad for the 12 foot hose it says u can get an optional "speed tool" there is no part number for this tool and there is a picture of it but not a very good one. googling for kirby speed tool brings nothing useful up and looking though ebay listings at kirby tools i see nothing that looks like what there talking about.

anyone happen to know what this "speed tool"

The 'speed tool' would be--

--at the machine end of hose as shown and have a switch that would move up or down to push either the high or low speed button on the front of Generation when hose was attached.I have only seen it mentioned on literature and imagine it to be the rarest modern accessory.

@kirbyclassiciii that's what i was thinking but looking at that picture it looks like a tool pulled right into the end of the hose and dont seem to be the elbow piece with the suction control. also tech that wouldn't be an optimal tool since u would get that with the tool set by default.

@rugsucker is there a part number for this ud think they would have put the part number on the ad.

Hey

Kirby doesn't have part number in the ad but if you go to Kirby website it had the part number.
I have the special like 3 foot long extension I want to say for cleaning high places. They also have a bunch of attachments that use the flower tool. It connects using a clear tube and has a number of small attachments. I have it to. I didn't think it was Kirby but it is indeed. There are lots of odd things they carry but don't market much.

@lesinutah do u happen to have the part number for it i tried emailing Kirby to ask about it haven't heard back yet.

the first tools you were talking about i believe that's the extend crevices tool part# 238499S there's only a couple guys left on ebay selling them i ordered mine from goodvac.com ebay store using a $5 ebay coupon got it for $14

the second one is the micro attachment set part# 473194 amazon.com had 1 in stock last week for $7.34 as soon as i ordered it once it became sold out they jacked up the price to $33.36 it def has no kirby branding on the box anywhere. but it was also shown on this ad of kirby tools and has a kirby part number one of the sellers who have it on ebay said the tool wasn't made by kirby that a 3rd party company made them and kirby just bought up a bunch of them to resell.

there's also the mini blind cleaning tool part number 238399 this one u can get cheaply from kent at kirby needs he sells them without the box for 3 bucks.

then there's the ceiling fan tool part #238299 this one i got off a german seller for 8 plus 4 shipping.

then there's this thing https://www.ebay.com/itm/Kirby-Vacu...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649 its not an attachment more of a demo tool that sales guy would have but i grabbed one anyway.

all i need now is a 12 foot hose and to figure out what the heck this speed tool is lol.

I'm pretty sure it's part #38 in diagram. I took pics of the air flow part it's either a diamond edition or g3 I'm not sure.

awesome thanks for the part number. googling that seems like its a replacement for the part that hooks on to the vacuum and the dif being that it has a moveable switch to turn on either the top or the bottom safety switch on a g series. guess i wont be needing that being that i have heritage and the safety switch is totally dif i was thinking this was like an attachment tool.
