Kirby 515 Makeover

Had some downtime and decided to pop a couple parts onto my 515 that I had in storage for a while.

At some point in its life it had the original bag and belt lifter replaced with newer versions that have the more angular Kirby logo. I’ve left these alone ever since I picked this up as my first vintage vacuum in 2010 and I felt like changing it up after 11 years.

The replacements I have use the classic scripted logo and come from a 510.

Looking pretty good!

The 515 initially started with the version of the bag used on models 513 and 514, and then switched to the version used on the model 516 in late production; at the same time, the wheels changed from black Bakelite to gray Alathon.

The previously gray tools changed to red, also.

Your 515 looks really nice. I'm glad these elder Kirby's are receiving the love they so richly deserve. Very nice!
