After more than a month of trying to get this from craigslist, I finally got it today.

As you can see, it's not in the best shape, no problem for me though. I have doubles of everything, wheels, bag, nozzle, etc. I also have an original gray Sani-Emtor door, along with a spare cord. The only thing I need is a gray handle, if worse comes to worse I have a friend with a red one.

Oh, I forgot to add how lucky I am! This one barely has any fan blades left! Only one little crack on the fan case. My friend also has those parts that I can buy from her.

The bag has an excellent logo on it, it almost looks new. Problem is that there's a lot of rust stains on the back, and it's been roughly mended on the bottom with green, yes you heard me, lime green thread.

Reminds me of my 509 that I sold to Kirbymodel2c, James told me about this club,Thanks James, since then I've collected more than I've sold. Mark

Alex,

If you look at my presidents message on the homepage you will see my mothers 508 after being rebuilt by Kirby. The 508 is what I grew up with as a child. I have always wanted a complete machine in the orginal colors and bag.

Best of luck with your rebuild... it will be a fine machine when you are done.

Alex, You may want to leave the emtor bottom on it. I believe the 508 had a black emtor bottom and not gray. My 508 is this way and so is Phillip's. And now yours has it too. And the design of the bottom is just slightly different than my 505's emtor which is also black so I'm thinking the 508 had a black emtor cover but not the same one that the 505 had. Again, what a find, and to find the headlight trim in good shape is a nice bonus. Can't wait to see it when you get it all restored, I don't think I've ever seen an original looking 508 restored.
