Ah, there it is! Very pretty! I was told by someone that Kingstons are a Royal derivative that were sold door to door. I know I've seen the name on Royal style canisters as well. Anyone know any more about this?

I am not sure but...

There were other names this vacuum went by. My parents had a Firestone that was dark green and looked like this as well, all we had that I remember was the crevious tool and the apolstery tool, we cleaned the cars out with it. There was a tan one in one of our newsletters that was at a convention. That tan one had the same switch on the back as our Firestone. I will keep looking for that machine and see if I can ever find one. I have only seen the literature about my Firestone at one of a previous memebers home, when they had a convention at their home.

I have the same blue Kingston. I found mine in a retro store here in St. Louis. I saw a storage hassock, always usually empty but it was red and in awesome shape so I thought I'd pick it up and store my XXX in it. I opened it up to check the condition of the inside and was shocked to see a complete blue Kingston inside complete with manual and everything. Up to that point I'd never seen one in person. The tan machine mentioned in the aforementioned thread was a Coronado that too was in beautiful condition. I believe these machines must've given Electrolux a run for their money at the time, mine has extremely good suction, better than the XXX I think.

Rick was absolutly right..

That was a Coronado in that past newsletter...and they did have great suction I know our Firestone did as well.

machines are all VERY beautiful and high-styled. I always wondered who designed them. Here are a couple of "quick and dirty" pix of mine. I have the original hose (turquoise woven vinyl with white XXX tracing) and all the attachments but I couldn't get to them.

What wonderful looking vacuums. Roger can you give us a close up of the floor tool. They must not have been a popular machine here as I have never seen one in any thrift stores. Love that rich blue color!!

Coronado Vacuum

I happened to find a Coronado Vacuum, a Tan one, at a thrift store that's in quite good shape, if I can find it in my storage trailer I'll try to shoot a picture of it, it's in pretty good shape.

And another pic...

In this one, you can also see my gorgeous turquoise Ken-Kart!

I have a lot of turquoise machines; one of these days I'm gonna do a "Visions in Turquoise" feature for my web site.
