eureka gold boxtop vs kenmore twin fan. this one shocked the crap out of us the most. the eureka never stood a chance against it.

we all had SOO much fun at this meet. we were all very exhausted by the end of the day, but were sad to part ways. Sean and I will be hosting the north texas mini meet in early november, keep your eyes peeled around that time!

Wonderful!!!!!

I spied 13 HOOVERS amidst the outdoor stash. Those inside, (Convertibles, etc)  look fab.

You guys really know how to host a minimeet.  I hope Jay can put some of this in the newsletter. It's great to see you all together.Wil is one I still have to meet.

John.

John, I have met Will eh he's over reated lol Will i'm am totally kidding it was great to meet you finally, we had fun. We did have a blast except it was hotter than hell. Kenny is a great host and kept us busy all day to the point where Will and I were ready to drop from exhaustion. The tug of war game was a lot of fun and i'm not at all shocked that the little cheap Singer twin fan kicked but, you know they really are cheap plastic vacuums but don't knock them, they clean like a champ. The Eureka however was a surprise, it did the worst out of everything we tested. Ken's garage was interesting. We wanted to take it all to be saved but most was so far gone that it just wouldn't be worth saving. Some of what I got was for the parts sadly. The fantom is for a customer and the Kenmore stuff completes a set I have. The Slate Green Hoover Concept II non power drive is one I have been looking for and Chad found it for me in KC at an estate sale. It's a rather hard to find model and the Regina broom Kenny found in Tulsa for me. She runs like a top. I love my Regina brooms! All in all I took home around 12 machines not 25 or 30.

Sean, thanks for driving us around in your wonderful Volvo and i'm glad I could return the favor in my Volvo on our way to lunch when yours was full of my stuff.
Thanks to Kenny for hosting and to Kenny's Mom for breakfast
Thanks to Chad for bringing me the concept
and thanks to Will for taking all the pictures.
I can't WAIT till i'm finally in a situation where I can put one of these mini meets together, as Kenny stated to me Sunday the anticipation of finally seeing all of my collection out and displayed is growing.

vacs,vacs,vacs

Looks like a great bunch of vacs and a good time had by all. Many rare items from all eras.In no 5 what was in 'suitcase'?This looks like the official AirWay demo case of which I have seen maybe 2 in 30 years.Anyone get this??In no 5 is the black Sears with red bumper the commercial?Cord wrap or winder?Very rare!I have seen 1.Hope we will see after pics of some of these. But the Diamond Jubilee already looks like new.Hard to find this nice.Anyone else with empty station wagons needing to be filled? The Place of Which We do Not Speak is waiting. And we can hope summer heat is ending.

<span style="font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: medium;"> </span>

<span style="font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: medium;">I like the competition with the crevice tool separating vacuums. What an idea.</span>

Will,

Thanks so much for posting the pictures. They look awesome! Your camera is wonderful and made my collection look fantastic! It actually looks better in the pictures than it does in person at least for me anyway.

I’ve known Ken (the guy we got the vacuums from) for at least four years. I purchased two Electrolux model Ls from him off of eBay and I’ve been to his house and have picked up various things over the years. I’m so glad everyone enjoyed going to his house and finding vacuums. It was very nice of him to pull out everything and let us go through it. I’ve already started cleaning up some of the vacuums I received from him. He made us all very good deals and I know he was glad to get rid of some.

We were all exhausted Sunday evening from the heat. Thankfully, it was cloudy in the morning when we went over to Kens.

Phillip - A mini meet at your house would be fantastic, hope you get your vacuum building finished soon. We would all love to come and see your collection all in one spot.

Jimmy - The vacuum in the suit case is some kind of Kenmore hand vac. I'm not sure if it's supposed to go in that case or not.

Kenny

hey will....

just FYI>......that is NOT the horseradish Convertible Sean is using. that Convertible is a model U4003. that came a little before that model. the model your thinking of was a lighter color, and had a newer wide top bag, and was the first to say "Convertible Elite" on the hood label. hears a pic of what your thinking of

The Convertible Elite is one I've been looking for. Should have bought this one from Chad instead of my 1076. But I'm glad to have my 1076 as well.

Kenmore

It's a great vacuum used it today. I'm not sure how rare they are. Sears probably sold a lot of those back in the day

There's nothing a like a mini-meet, everyone has a good time! Kenny, your collection/house looked great when I was there, but you've done a great job of displaying and organizing. Was the Singer in the suction match the one I gave you? Uh, btw, who won the Oreck/Kirby suction match? Will, your Lux and Omega are showroom new, and am sure you'll do a great job on the ones you just found, be sure to post pictures.

Rick

P.S. Who's the blonde?

Just goes to show you that with uprights, suction is not necessarily the most important factor in deep carpet cleaning.

If you put an attachment hose on that Eureka Vanguard, the suction is quite weak. And yet these Vibra Groomer Uprights by Eureka always outperformed Hoovers in Consumer Reports deep carpet cleaning tests.

It seems to have more to do with the angle the brush cavity meets the carpet (Rugulators adjust the front wheels, not the back ones) and the design of the brushroll, dustbag, air cavity and air path - rather than the suction created by the motor.

By the way - that's a cool-looking Eureka Rally! Never saw it in that kind of egg-shell colour before! With Royal Blue accents.....interesting!

rick the blonde is phillip muller. and two of those kirby's will be parts machines for original trim and bags etc. one ds50 will be given away to a friend. thanks for your kind comments on my show 'n tell vacs. im glad to have the omega back running again, and looking better too.

will Hemb

Kenny...

What a fun day for all of you.Mini-meets are fun and yours was even more so with the finds at the vac tent.
Your collection is super and so is your home.Glad all got some cool things.

Michael

Wow all those great vacuums! Looks like my patio when I get back from picking up!

Maybe someone will invite me to a mini meet someday, unlike those here in Indiana

did. Looks like fun!

Yes Rick that was your Singer that was used.
Jimmy that suitcase vac was called a HIPPO but I don't know anything about it.
The black Kenmore canister is the cord winder model and I did grab it because it's rare.
