Kenmores on eBay

I see a lot of auctions and sellers selling Kenmore vacuums on eBay stating that they are store demo models. I don't understand why there are so many, because most of these are still current models. Are they coming from stores that have closed? I don't see why Sears would be replacing demo machines that are still being sold? If they are they must be wasting a lot of money that they could be saving, especially given the financial side of things.

I was under the impression that the display models get sold at a discount when a model gets discontinued.

Always doing that. I have no idea why but eBay is always highly populated with the lightly used "floor models". No idea where all of them are coming from, but they're always there when you look.
