I wasn't looking for one of these, but I happend to stumble across this today at a thrift store for $10.00. A little clean up and a new belt and she should be good to go. The bag is in excellent shape and most of the makings on the hood should clean up pretty well.

I never paid much attention to these when they were new as I was too busy drooling over the canister lines at the time. So, for now....something to play with.

I have one of those...

They are very nice machines! If you can't find bags for it, then you can use non-docking Oreck bags. That is what I use, and they are available at WalMart.
Have fun with it!

Those

Were made by Whirlpool, whirlpool also had one under thier label. They came out late 1985and were sold untill around mid-late 91. I have that model and my aunt had a white one 7.2 amp and the bag was hard in fron and wrapped with a grey cloth on hers.
Pertty durable vacs though.

Thanks for all the help...

guys. I appreciate it. I needs a belt, and I was told if I couldn't find one, a DAM belt would work, too. I haven't looked into the bag situation yet, Chase, but thank you!

I thought it might have been Singer as well, Bill, but just like Ken said, it is Whirlpool. It has a cool carpet height adjuster just like the Hayden PN's.

Thanks again!

Can u.....

Tell me what the model number is.....I can tell u the exact year through that number......
I have one of those and i also have the genuine whirlpool version to... It was called the power clean 3000 which was identcal to the kenmore except for the commercial cord, but it also had two speeds and a headlight....and there was also a lower end power clean that was only a one speed and no headlight....those were sold in the late 80's......

My mother bought this kenmore new in 1988. I remember we went to the sears catalog store to pic out a vacuum and a microwave. I was 10 years old. I ofcourse wanted a canister but this one was on sale for 164.00 and it looked nice enough and the top mounted tools I gues must have looked handy. Anyway, I almost had her talked into a canister but the salesman talked her into this one and she wanted to save money but not get something too cheap. I remember it came in this very looong box, bugger than a concept box I think. Anyway, it was in 1988 if anyone wants to know, but I also saw it in a 1990 sears wishbook so it must have been carried for a few years. Never liked it. It was loud to me. Sears still carries the bags though
