Kenmore lower end canister

I was wondering about the canisters 4 and 7 in this catalog page: http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a251/farrini/sears922.jpg
Does anyone know when these came out and when they were discontinued? I always thought they were interesting because they still used the front mount hose unlike the others at the time. They didn't seem common here at all, I only saw one. A neighbor had a gray one with the power nozzle as well as a Kirby G3.

I have a slightly later catalog that has only the straight suction one and it has a blue top instead of gray.

These take an H style bag, BTW.

I can't answer your question on the Kenmores, but I am loving this catalog. Could you please provide us a link to the photobucket member's homepage? I'd to see what else he or she has.

I have another catalog that is later and has the Kenmore Destiny and Panasonic made Powercenter and Performance uprights. That was after the Singer twin fans and Heavy Duty style uprights were discontinued.
