Kenmore Imperial (Bugeye) for sale on eBay (Buy it Now OBO)

VacuumLand – Vintage & Modern Vacuum Enthusiasts

Help Support VacuumLand:

Now that's something you don't see everyday! Looks to be in amazing shape and pretty easy to bring back to its original luster (except of course for the bag but that's not an issue really)
Who ever buys this will have quite a lovely piece to their collection.

Who knew...

They were worth so much? I have a gorgeous, polished example. Say "Cheese" girl. It's heading to eBay. Love how the prices are now through the roof on eBay.

Tom,

First of all, kindly go "eff" yourself.

Secondly, you know damn well how much these are worth, and your post was completely rude and uncalled for. You take pleasure in screwing people over, cheating, lying, and stealing for your own personal gain. I'm sure your bugeye was a donation to your "museum" anyway. I've never said or done anything inconsiderate to you, so I'm not sure why you decided to take a shit on my lawn, but rest assured, it will end up in your mailbox eventually.

You represent all that is wrong with the vacuum collecting community.

You mean to say you don't know the rarity? I'd imagine there are FEWER Kenmore Imerial "bug eye" cleaners out there than the "Kirby model c" you posted on eBay last month for a starting price of $1,000.00 OBO. Pretty sure no one asked for (or wanted) your opinion. Go play "museum", and don't comment on something if you're only doing so to be an ass. Do you really want everyone here to know what you REALLY think of vacuumland and its members? How about what you do to cleaners you don't like? Your opinion is unnecessary and unwarranted. Tommy dear, only diamonds and screenshots are forever! 😘 Say cheese!

I listed a Kenmore Imperial on eBay back in 2010. There's no need to wave money in the air and say how much I got for it; suffice it to be said that it was my most lucrative eBay sale ever. EVER. And I've sold some very rare machines over the years.

There -are- collectors who consider rare old vacuum cleaners to be valuable and desirable.

I don't have a dog in this fight--

--(even though I have a Kenmore Imperial)but have often wondered here why anyone with knowledge of the history, special features, original and recent prices, rarity, performance, quality, styling, and more of certain collector vacuums would react with negative, sarcastic comments when someone has searched for and restored a vacuum that they then feel has value.

I also have a pristine original example, and I'd bet my award-winning 1965 (Chrysler) Imperial Crown Coupe that it would sell for a HELL of a lot more than the one I am currently selling on eBay (which by the way, is open to offers as indicated by the "make offer" button). I listed my operable and perfectly restorable example for a fair price given the condition, while still taking into consideration how utterly rare of a machine it is in ANY condition. I would venture to guess there are people out there who have been searching for one for 30 years.

So Tom, if you'd like to list your donated (stolen?) example for less, I invite you to do so. I'm sure there are people here who would love to snatch it up for such a bargain. If not, then please see yourself out and try not to trip over a stray hammer.

FIRST OF ALL!!!!!,

Everyone is acting like a bunch of freaking BRATS!!!! Its just a vacuum cleaner for God's sake!

Secondly, Brandon, you are old enough and mature enough ( I would hope ) NOT too fall into the trap! You have a very nice Kenmore that you are trying too sell, and you should just leave it at that, ( although,I think you really need too sharpen your pencil and come WAY down on those prices ) you do have VERY nice machines there!

Today's dictionary entry is "Hyprocrisy"

hypocrisy (n) the practice of claiming to have moral standards or beliefs to which one's behavior does not conform; pretense.

A person ostensibly deplores this community and states the intention to completely disconnect and unsubscribe, due to the "unscrupulous" nature of Vacuumland members.  Within weeks, they are back, using our "deplorable" community to make money, and hurling insults at those who are not subdued by their opinions.

Someone pass me some pop corn!!!  This is a better show than the one I'm in!

I'm not sure what the fuss is over Tom's comments. Just by commenting he helped keep your ad near the top of the list. by being controversial, his post led to additional posts that raise interest in your ad. The value of an antique vacuum on ebay can vary greatly over time, so if the going is good, by all means he should list his too. He didn't say your price was too high. He said that if prices are that good, he was going to list his too.
