Hello,
I'm a member of automaticwasher.org and I'm looking to part with, sell repair or donate a canister vacuum. I hope someone here has some info for me.
It is a vintage Kenmore canister vacuum. Model 116.250.1190
The main motor on this unit failed over 20 years ago when the vacuum was relatively new. The owner gave it to me as my plan was to repair it. I did not. I used to work for Whirlpool and at the time had friends there who likely could have gotten me a motor. Oh well. Now it has to go and I don't want to trash it. Here are pics that include the serial number.
Is there a way to get parts? Is this type of vacuum valuable to someone on this site?

motor for Kenmore canister vac.

I am unable to determine whether or not you have a two stage lamb motor or a one stage though I am inclined to believe that it is a one stage motor since this is a middle of the line cleaner. Try to find motor part # 436978 which is a one stage lamb. These have a 8 to 10 year breakdown though I am not surprised that it went out on the bum early. I am going to research this further to see what further info. I can find.
