How many of you keep the retail boxes of vacuums you buy and for how long? I generally will keep them until the warranty expires. In some cases I feel that the vacuum might become rare or wanted at some point and keep the box to increase the value if I ever sell.

i do the exact same but i keep them even when the warranty expires i feel that even though i hope not to sell my collection , but that in a few years when the model is discontinued it will be even more of a collectors piece because it has the original box i also keep the user manuals and warranty cards

Well...

I rarely buy new products but when i do i'd say about a week just in case i end up not liking it. When it comes to used products i sometimes keep the box i did for the kirby vacuette i also have the logo for the tradition (i think)

Well if a machine is new in box, like my Compact C8, then obviously I am going to keep the box.

With Kirby machines, its easy to store all the extra stuff, so the box can be a good benefit. Other than that, only if boxes are complete and mint would I keep it (unless maybe its exceedingly rare)

I agree with Brandon

If it's a new in box vintage vacuum, I would keep the box around because getting rid of the box would degrade it's resale value. I've bought vacuums in the past and kept the box around for a couple of months or so. Sometimes I've been known to store things in their original boxes to keep everything together.

Okay I get what you are saying

Yeah I kept my dirt devil vision power pak canister box until it got thrown away, after it was cut up into so many pieces.
What about that Eureka Express 8259-A box? I kept my Kenmore Progressive Canister box (black model) and had it thrown away. Because my room was so messy. Oh! By the way I have my boxes usually thrown away. But I always wondered what the Spectrum Canister ones looked like. We throw ours away in our house, to prevent messes to keep our house clean. I usually don't keep boxes, if ever.

vac boxes

If anyone wants a box that might go with one of their vacs I have a very few in the attic back to the 90s.Might include Eureka,Hoover,Dirt Devil,Rainbow, but no list yet.

boxes in attic

Will try for pics, but being an attic they are not quite 'ready for their close-up'.I remember a Hoover 2 brush shampoo box, some possible DDev/Eureka boxes & definately some Rainbow SE era power nozzle boxes that might be good for storage or display if someone doesn't have.
