Hey everybody! Once again I happen to found this in eBay so I would love to show y’all my new addition to my collection! This is a Panasonic Jet Flo MC-6225 vacuum and this is my first Panasonic vacuum and I always wanted one of the vintage Panasonic like this! This cost $60 or best offer with a $17 shipping, but it also said I can do a free pickup since this came from San Antonio TX, I wish we could’ve done that but it was far so I did delivery. I’m planning on getting a decent attachment set real soon so enjoy!

Sadly the only problem is that the handle broke while in shipping so I fixed it with gorila tape but probably soon I’ll try to look for another one on eBay or maybe someone has a spare.

This is probably a sort of a luxury model because this features a electronic power control that has low, medium, and high speed! And a full bag alarm too.

The hose port, it has a little piece that broke off but it still doesn’t affect the vacuum’s performance.

Does anybody know what month and year my jet flo was made in. And I would love to know when the jet flos were made in.

Epoxy?

It's hard to tell from the photo how badly damaged the handle grip really is. However, you might also try to epoxy the bits back together. I did that once on a power nozzle and the broken part ended up being stronger.

I've always wanted to a Jet Flo. They look like great machines. Their design reminds me of the old Hoover Dial-a-matic.

I had a similar model for ever! 6255, the kids have it now and can't kill it! Lived in my trunk for years to clean mom's huge beauty shop too! Wooden brush-roll and single speed. Never has broken anything. 7 Amp I think, plenty.I got mine in 89 I believe from Wards, not cheap, very recommended by consumer reports! It looks a lot like the dial a matic cause they bought the patent!

panasonic vacuums

Panasonic definitely had some good models, they also made very good power nozzles, it's a shame that they have completely pulled out of the vacuum market. All of the Centec power nozzles were made by Panasonic and the only one that is still being made by a different company now is known as the CT25 which is an updated version of the power nozzle for soft carpets.

I got a new tool set for this vacuum, it’s Riccar brand but the hose should fit on the back still cause they have the same hose design.

You might test an inconspicuous piece of the plastic to see if it's ABS or not. If it is, it will chemically bond perfectly with plumber's ABS cement.

The only problem with gluing it is....what happens if you need to clean or replace the switch in the future? Would be a nightmare to get apart.

I think you’re right huskyvacs, the best I rather do is leave the handle the way it is for now till I find one on eBay.

I've never used this site before, so I have no idea about how it works, but if you never find one on eBay and want to cross it off your checklist, this site has it. Parts #51 and #52:

Oddly they only have the right side in brown and not blue. I'm sure you could get some spraypaint color-matched and respray the brown one a matching shade of blue.

That sticker from Capital Vacuum Floor Care World!

Wow that’s amazing for me to see that sticker! I had a summer job in their old shop on Hillsborough Street back in 1985. The Dickersons were great people to work for. The shop was huge and it was like Vacuum Nirvana! Their warehouse was the old Embers nightclub in downtown Raleigh. So many machines in the place that I only once and never since. I think they must’ve kept every trade in since the place first opened.

Seems like a very well made vacuum.

Can't see the extent of the damage to the handle, but you could take your time and super glue the bits back together, then reinforce everything with epoxy glue. I've had good luck doing that lately, with gorilla gel super glue, and Loctite epoxy.

Also, I've found that epoxy glue won't stick to scotch tape, so I've made molds out of it and filled them with epoxy glue to make new bosses, and the like.

If you get that brown handle, you could try plastic dye in rattle cans, might be better than paint.

These are very nice machines to use. I have almost the same model, mine is MC-6220 vs 6225. I’ve never seen a jet flo before in that color, just the cream and brown colors. Is the switch in the handle multi position? It looks like it has more than on/off. I think the absulute TOL model had a electronic slider switch in the handle to vary the suction but it would be redundant to have the buttons and the slider. Anyways nice find and hopefully you can get the handle fixed.

The attachment set arrived yesterday! I try it out and it’s cool, the suction is amazing! This will be used for other Panasonic vacuums, Riccar, Simplicity, and hopefully one day a Amtrak Workhorse vacuum.
