As luck would have it, I saw the lady as she was putting it out for the trash. It's an Electrolux L-E, serial number L72104F. Came with the hose & powernozzle, but no other attachments. There was a clog in the neck of the powernozzle, but both cleaner and powerhead run fine. Does anyone know about when this machine was manufactured and also, was it the economy model at the time? Thanks.

Congrats on a good find

Hmm...about 1985-7ish for the blue LE, and 1987-9ish for the brown...I think that's about right.

Not sure about the States, but in Canada, the blue LE was the economy model for the Hi-Tech 2100, and the brown for the System 90.

Actually, the very first plastic body Electrolux was the AP 100, which debuted in 1973, and the (body) style hasn't changed radically since then.

I'm guessing that your LE is like the one in this picture? I think they called that color "taupe", but I'm not sure.

*brain fart* Dark pink...it sounds more like the LE Special Edition.

Further to that brain fart

Is it like this, minus the dial and control panel?

Thank you Bob! It's actually the exact same machine you have in the first photo. I wasn't sure because I know alot of Canadian Luxes differ significantly from their American counterparts. Taupe would probably be the correct color name. Just looks more like a pink to me, or maybe a dusty rose. I guess like you said, it was the economy model to the model 2100.

I know what you mean about colors; "taupe" doesn't convey a lot of meaning to me, other than "light-ish brown"

Would be great to see some pics of your LE; I actually sort of like the non-automatic plastic body models a little better than the automatic ones. There's slightly less to go wrong, and they're slightly easier to work on.
