Anything can be saved...
...It just depends on how much you're willing to spend. Of course, the flip side of the coin is you could end up with something like the proverbial family axe that's been in the family for 200 years and only had six new handles and two new heads. But I agree. I sure wouldn't spend $70 on it. $10 maybe but not $70.
