My grandparents gave me a call last night and told me they found "two sweepers" at a garage sale for me. They said one had a bad motor and the other one ran, and they got them for $5 each. Well it turns out they were Garrys! I have wanted one of these for a long time! The one on the left has a bad fan, so I'm not even going to clean it up. The one on the right runs fantastically!

Alright, everyone says these are junk and really loud. They are completely wrong. These sound exactly like an Oreck except with more of an airflow sound. They have a great brushroll and work on all types of floors! The attachments are kind of pointless, but I admire that they gave it a shot. These came with tons of bags, the manuals, and some belts. So I have one in fantastic condition and the other for parts. I am positive these will be extremely uncommon one day...

I've welcomed Garry's in our house

Chase,
I just could not resist when I saw the TV infomercial. I got one when they first came out. I didn't think it was that bad but the one I got had a very soft, almost useless brushroll and it was very ,very loud. I agree with you, it sounded like an early Oreck.
You sure got a good buy! I sent mine back the next day. I could be they made changes in the bruh roll or noise level since mine was one of the first out.
I think they will be scarce like the first Fantoms and H2O's some day too.

The Garry is similar in design to the Tacony lightweights, but there is absolutely no comparison with the quality of the Riccar or Simplicity machine. I do know that there is one lightweight machine out there that is made by Tacony for another company. It was mentioned on the forum awhile back.

I've got the Shop Vac Easy Lift and it is by far the worst Oreck knock off ever. The handle is tiny, and has av ery awkward feel. There is almost nothing to the outer bag, it is hard to push on any carpet, it's really flimsy, and ugly. But that is just my opinion.

Yes I agree it was flimsy. The motor burned out on the one I had in just a few hours. I thought I would try it out as we I have some small accounts that don't require a huge vac to clean with. Also "everyone" wants a light weight machine.
it was a nice Idea while it lasted. In the end I decided to stay with the Hoover windtunnels for those job sites.
