Some of you may recall that I recently acquired a General Electric Roll-Easy. (See thread on that at the link below for the before pics.) After giving the machine the most thorough bath I think I have ever given a vacuum cleaner, I'm ready to sell it. I decided that I would offer it for sale here first. If nobody here wants it, to eBay it goes.

I'm not looking to make a killing on this machine. Yes, I know it's rather rare to find a complete Roll-Easy, but I really have no interest in it and have no interest in making tons of profit off it. All I want is what I put into the machine. If I break even, I'll be happy and I'll be even happier to see this machine go off to a home that will love it for the quirky thing that it is.

Without further ado, here are the 'after' pics. The camera flash really exaggerates the flaws, such as small amounts of surface rust on the nameplate and blower cover. Please note that the entire machine has been disassembled and scrubbed thoroughly.

The original hose. There are two splits in the rubber, one at the user end, the other at the machine end. I left them taped and reinforced the tape at the user end. I didn't want to damage the hose any further by removing the existing tape. The hose however, is completely air tight.

And it wouldn't be a thread by me if I didn't include a little tongue-in-cheek humor involving a Hoover the way John Long (gottahaveahoove) taught me.

The Hoover Convertible (Model 34 Special) confronts the 'outsider' and wants to know what it's doing in 'His' living room!

(Note: the Hoovers are not included in the sale!)

Cornered! Cornered, I say! The Convertible and the PortaPower have the Roll-Easy against a stone wall! I'd be shaking in my wheels too if a Hoover crevice tool was being pointed at me!

Hi PoconoVacMan

If I didn't already have a General Electric Roll-Easy in storage, I'd take this, but I'm not greedy, and don't need 2 of them. I have to say that the hose on yours is in bad condition, but the rest seems good. Also, the cord on yours is not original! It should be the same color as the machine not light gray, also the female end has been replaced. As for the bags, the're great. I've only got the one that came with my machine, and as it's been sitting in one sorage unit or another since November 11, 2006, so who know's the condition.

Good luck in selling that, Roll-Easy, it's a great design, and I love mine.

Alex Taber.
