'Watch This' said our 'Friendly Electrolux Man&#

One of our local salesmen told me that in the 50s as he would demo the vac he would write on the nice wood floors in pencil and when the surprised housewife would demand he clean it he would start a polisher demo.He sold Elux starting in the 30s and has been dead for years.

Very cool! I've never seen a manual for one of these, but I take for granted that the lower speed was for scrubbing and waxing and the higher speed was for polishing.

This is the first version of the B7 that came out during the Model F - note the color coordination. (Very rare nowadays.)

The low speed was for spreading wax and the high speed for scrubbing and polishing.

There was also a B7 in turquoise during the early run of the Model G.

In 1962 or '63 the first B8 came out, which was the same machine as the B7 except it had a lighter-weight tubular handle, only one speed, and a new "Carpet Beautifier" setup.

There was also a chrome version of the B7 that was a salesman's prize. It's stunning!

Here are some photos of the various B7s and early B8s. (B8s were continued up through the Silverado with corresponding colors -- dark turquoise for 1205, gold for SuperJ, Chocolate for Olympia and dark gray for Silverado.)

Thanks for the photos and info.

I agree that the chrome B-8 is stunning! As for the color combination of the gray & white B-7, it reminds me of the 75th edition Floor Pro color scheme.

The soap dispenser with the sparkles has that cool '60s look.

You have a great collection!
