Hi Sam Very nice those factory rebuilds are the best. I want to send my classic 2 in but cant find the paper work. Do you no if they will rebuild it if i send it in without the paper work. Please let me no what i need .Thanks Doug.

Thank you Sam i guess since it really works very well the only thing i would like to get on it is the brush roll with the two brushes on each side. I will begin to shine it up very soon. i would like to do it before the heat of summer starts. However here on Long Island ,New york we have had the worse SPRING in years Rain every other day. Are those Kirby carpet grooming tracks on the plush scarlet carpet in front of the lovely sideboard with drop pendant handle pulls that highlight the Omega woodgrain trim so well?

They replaced the bag, all of the trim, cord, handle, brushroll, belt, fan, door and gasket for the emptor.And I was shocked with the shipping that for under $15 I could send it to ?Cleveland Priority mail with insurance.

Those are not Kirby marks on the rug, it is actually from a convertible model 66. I thought the beautiful buffet was a good backdrop too.

Morgan, I am very pleased with the service from Kirby as well as their product. No I did not send the attachments because
1. they get replaced with black generation style attachments, which I dont like.
2.the attachments are still unused in their box in grandma's hall closet. And I am looking forward to meeting you in Chicago also.
Just too fill you all in about the history is this Kirby, my great-grandmother bought it new in 1970, and purchased another right around the time that my great-grandfather died in early 1972, which is when this one was given to my grandfather and grandma had used it from then until about 1995 when after a back injury it became too heavy for her and it was replaced, but the Kirby was kept in the garage and used to clean the carpeted porches. Then after grandpap died in 2003 I got to take the kirby home and I really havent used it much since.From 1972 for my great-grandmothers last 28 years of life she had traded every kirby she had for the next model,in which she had every model until the G-3 when she just kept it until she passed.
Ad Dave, the buffet in the back ground of the pics also belonged to my great-grandmother from sometime in the mid 1940's and it was given to my mother along with the rest of the set shortly after we built our new home in 1993.
Suprisingly I have not yet used the Kirby since it's return, I am waiting to take it to grandma's and I want to use it there for the first time since that is where it has been used the most.

I love how Kirby's clean up....
Kirbys are actually pretty fun to restore in my book. Parts are still available for them, and even a grungy old cruddy looking Kirby can come out looking like a new penny!
Below is a picture of one I restored for my sister for Christmas. I bought it from it's original owner.....a Polish immigrant who bought it as his first major purchase when he came to the US in the late 70's!

Here's the same machine post-cleanup. The only thing replaced on the whole machine was the brushroll, which I just happened to have an extra from a mis-order for my G3!
And no......I don't still have this machine in my collection.

Franken Kirby and Bottom Plate
I recently heard Kirby is going to black cords as well as other parts so who knows what future rebuilds will look like. Also maybe they didn't notice the Omega if the replaced the sticker. Can we get a pic of the name plate the put on the bottom of the machine.

Mabe I will send out my santronic 80 instead of doing it myself,My neibor was thowing it out a few years ago.I will ask if he still has the paperwork, also the hose adapter is no good I wonder if they would fit it with a new adapter or just replace the whole hose(wich I dont want).I want the hose to match the vac but I wouldnt mind if the adapter coupling didnt. Do I call to start the process Im assuming i just dont send it with a note lol.

Kirby Rebuilds
If you can be-friend a kirby dealer you can get him to send it off for you and get it rebuilt,although many will not do this, some will. In my hometown of Lenoir we had a great kirby dealer,and he helped me get several rebuilt,I think he told the factory he sold them new.
