It's almost time again for the 127 endless yard sale

Starting August 7-10. It's amazing all the stuff they have for everything one collects.

I made a trip east 7 or 8 years ago and was amazed and broke after this event. Came home with a full load and almost considered leaving a dog behind to make room for more.

It's got even more promotion since HGTV started airing it each year. Each year I have a decision which way to go..north or south but I always get a car load each day! Gee I hope I don't get featured on hoarders, I can't even build an annex to the house..LOL

I want to find a vintage Craftsman Lawn mower with the teeth in the front, I think it had the wind up crank like my grand had. I wish my aunt had kept all that stuff when she moved back yo their place. Ohhh and there was the claw foot tub..the big one where you could actually law back & everything got wet, had to rake out the window upstairs & gave it away... I was beside myself..I told her you could gave gotten it refinished or I could have done it. Or at least sold it for $2000 because the feet were good.

oh I love an old claw foot tub. Had a 6 footer in my first apartment and it was DEEP. Could fill it up and get everything but my head under water for a good soak and the water stayed HOT for a long time in that cast iron.

Yes, they did stay hot for a long time. They used to have the toilet with the tank up high on the wall with a long pull chain, but that was taken out too. The tub was big it sat in the middle of the wall, backseat the laundry chute was in front of it and on the othe side was the closet door built into the wall above the staircase.

I would need to rent a U-Haul if that yard-sale reached Florida!

I've never heard of this. When and where is it? Do they have a lot of vacuums?

Thanks Bill for posting the link on here. People actually bring the entire contents of their home to the front yard to sell. The drive is great along 127 seeing how things were, old buildings reminding me of The Andy Griffith Show..it is a true step back I time in some parts. People rent u-hauls, trucks you name it, it's being hauled away. I love the people watching..LOL.... That's a sight ...it's the the Kentucky Derby gone way wrong..the outfits & the hats..last year I couldn't make it for obvious reasons but this year I'm right here..so let the choppin begin!!!
