Found an absolutely stunning near perfect Hoover 62 at the goodwill today. It just so happens to be formerly owned by another collector on the site.

Looks hardly used. Incredible restoration job.

Picked up my model 28 today with a new old stock cord. Can finally start the restoration.

The 62 is a unique machine. It's interesting to spot the similarities to a Hoover 61 and it's more prestigious brother 63. There are many similarities to both!

I nearly fainted when I saw the machine. I was checking out a decade 80 in the vacuum section which I've wanted for years. I then realized I had my hand resting on the 62. I lost my mind. My roommate kinda jumped when he saw how excited I got. I stood in awe and admiration at its beauty.

I was so extatic that I passed up on two other dream machines. A last gen top of the line Hoover concept two electronic and the decade 80. They also had a plastic base model denim convertible that was in beautiful shape.

Best $10 I've ever spent. Next to the 63 I found here years ago for $10

Just wanted to share for those who have never seen what a handi sac setup looks like.

Yes I know the bag is not a handi sac but the physical pieces are all there.

63 is pictured for reference of the change from the 62 to 63. And just a side shot to compare the two.

Brandon..

Those machines are gorgeous! Congratulations on those finds. Especially for the price you stole them for ;)
That 28 is beautiful. It is one of those decently common machines that I never got my hands on. I'm not sure if they were not popular in my area, but I've never found one. Yours is a gorgeous example, especially with that bag. It is really, really nice. It is one of the "Hoovers of all Hoovers".

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Kyle! I'm proud of the 28 as well. My first 28 came off eBay. Over paid but it ran almost silent and so smooth. I then stumbled across two more less nice ones and a 305. After I purged my collection and moved out of my parents I passed them on to others.

This one came by mistake on a mislead craigslist ad. Was looking at a sanitronic 7 and a 505 that were far too beat up and found this 28 with original box hiding away looking shabby.
Cleaned up pretty darn well! Still a lot of work to do to get it completely cleaned up.

Near perfect model 62 at Goodwill?

I am curious why would a mint model 62 hoover in beautiful condition that previously belonged to a vacuum collector be at Goodwill?
