VacuumLand – Vintage & Modern Vacuum Enthusiasts

Help Support VacuumLand:

Well if Eureka was bought by Midea, this was hopefully a better outcome than that. Bissell's quality is all over the place, but they have some nice products, and they have a large commercial line already.

Honestly I'm Excited

Hello. I'm excited to see what bissell will do with sanitiare! I'm not a bissell fanboy or anything but I do think that they have the best modern vacuums out today and I'd like to see what they will do.

Bissell has some decent vacuums, but I definitely wouldn't consider them the best as far as modern dept store vacuums. They have some good ones though.

I wish Eureka hadn't discontinued the 1934B and Smart Vac.

It would be neat if since Bisell has done this, that they reintroduce the Big Green canister carpet cleaner under the Sanitaire name. Like how they did under the Rubbermaid name a few years back.

Bissell already do make some vacuums similar to the Sanitaire, so I wonder if the models will be merged. Nice if they could bring better motors to the Sanitaire line of vacuums and undo the quality issues that had plagued with plastic motors.

Both worried and excited

I'm afraid they mig butcheapen the design but maybe they'll release cheeper Sanitare like uprights for their residential vacuums. It'd be nice to see direct air vacuums at Walmart again

At least Bissell already has an established commercial line-up. As others have said, the only better outcome IMO would have been if TTI had purchased them.

Well, with Bissell being so committed in their current commercial endeavors, I can't see them doing anything worse than Eureka may have done... Either it will remain about the same, or maybe improve. Personally I don't see any deaths imminent here.

Hopefully they can bring the metal top sanitaire motor back. I'm quite interested in if they are going to change anything . I guess we will wait and see.

Nice to know that a part of the old Eureka company will now be owned by Americans. Unless I missed some news that Bissell is no longer owned by Americans.

I am actually happy about this. Bissell is a classic name in floor care, and I’m glad to see the famous maker of everyone’s favourite carpet sweeper is responsible for classic Eureka uprights now. Will we see some fan-first Bissell uprights at Best Buy now? Will Sanitaire’s head office move to Grand Rapids Michigan? Will Sanitaire uprights now be made in the USA again?

Exciting times for F&G Dial-a-Nap uprights!!! :-D

Everyone in our cleaning business prefers the original Eureka Sanitaire over the Bissell equivalent. For what ever reason the Sanitaire out performs the Bissell.

Not a huge fan of the Bissell commercial line.

Ok whattttts?

Wonder what will happen yo Elecfrolux die hard fan of lux aerus .Bissel is being a game changer mayby they will introduce other cleaners? Im worried about Electrolux now i jumped when i shaw this.

One thing this could signal is the beginning of the end for Electrolux AB's vacuum business in the U.S. I don't think they sell all that well and they may be preparing to unload it. It may come around that they turn the Electrolux name back over to Aerus. I don't know how that would work out what with Electrolux having other appliances on the market now also. I guess you could make an argument that Aerus did the right thing by changing their identity and adopting a new name. Oh what a tangled web one name can create...

Although I'm excited to see what Midea will do with Eureka because I love B&D, I'm not pleased with the news of this. I really don't care about Bissell anymore. Since my work has terminated our agreement with Bissell, we would might as well do the same with Sanitaire. I wouldn't be surprised if they change their lineup and drop the quality down.
