Finally
The replacement arrived yesterday, with the replacement was a call tag for pre-paid shipping to send the damaged machine back to them.
As for the machine. It is a 22 year old NIB machine. (I am gathering this by the printed literature in the box dated 1995). Out of the box the belt must be replaced as it has stretched with age. The frame that holds the brush roll is very flimsy (this was what was broken on the previous machine). I would equate the plastic frame to that when you get a model car. This is the frame that holds the brush roll. The hood assembly is where the strength of the unit is derived. IMO very poor design. You basically have the holder for the brush roll in the rug plate.
Suction is good, not overly noisy. The power assist is nice. Cord is short I don't know why manufacturers put such short cords 20ft. on their machines.
I will do more experimentation tonight and report if I have anything else. I added it to my collection because I didn't have a Eureka, bagged, clean air machine. A higher priced machine it is not, but it seems like a decent cleaner.
