Thinking about buying a new royal lately. Is there any real difference between these two models.
Is there any difference between Royal m4000 & everlast 8300

The Royal 4000 series is the older of these two models. It was made between 1995 and 2001 and has a 10 amp motor which is very loud. This was one of the last Royals to be made in the USA as Royal was purchased by TTI and production was moved to China in 2002.
The Royal Everlast 8300 also has a 10 amp motor and is quite loud as well. It was made between 2005 and 2011. This is a Chinese Royal. That being said, I can say that the quality of materials and workmanship are every bit as good as the model 4000 which was made in USA. How do I know this? Because I own one. My 8300 was made in 2008 and I can say that it may be noisy, but it sure can deep clean my carpet better than my Kirby Sentria which was made in 2009. It's also much lighter and easier to maneuver than my Sentria.

They are basically the same machine except for bag color. The 4000 has a maroon bag and the 8300 has a dark charcoal gray bag. They may have different style brush rolls, not sure about that though.
The 8300 is kind of rare and hard to find, that's why I wanted one. The 4000's are easier to find even though they are older. I got lucky with my 8300. I got it from a fellow collector who bought it at a Goodwill store for $12.95. The following video was made of my 8300 before I bought it from the collector who made the video.

I don't think he is on Vacuumland.
He is primarily on Youtube as Nicevacs and he is also on the Kirby and Royal groups on Facebook as Matthew Voss. I also spend a lot of time on the Kirby and Royal Facebook groups trying to help new and first time users with their many questions and/or problems with Kirbys and Royals.

Neat video! Would be neat to see more of the machine in action cleaning a path of carpet. I like hearing how machines start and shut down too. Very impressive with it grabbing whatever kind of dirt that was from inches away though!
