I woulden't use it that way.

If your thinking of using it like a Rainbow E2, well it's just not built that way. The reason the E2 can be used 24/7 is because it has no motor brushes. Motors with brushes (like a filterqueen) were not made to be used for extended periodes of time. Motors in things like electric fans and air conditioners that are run for long periods use brushless motors, which last much longer.

ok...

Thanks, i just wondered, because the newer filterqueens at online vac shops say "low speed for silent air purification" , I wouldent use it anyway,
Thanks -a-

The newer filterqueens may have brushless motors, but I'm quite sure the Tripple-Crown did not. I'd be interested to see the web site that talks about air purification.

Well...

...I have two things to say, one I see a BAD word in my origional post, two, here is the link for that site...

yep,

The new ones have a brushless motor, now why dont they make that "Whirring" noise on startup like the e2?

I though they used a lamb motor. I just got done reading the manual for the current model and it says nothing about use as an air cleaner and actualy says it should not be run unattended.

The owners manual can be found at the link below. It requires a PDF file viewer (acrobat reader).

I know for a fact that this is the motor they use, in fact, we took a current model Filter Queen apart to clean at the St. Louis meeting just this last weekend.

Theres nothing like taking one apart and seeing the insides for your self.

I think the Lamb motors are fairly good as long as you have one of the double ball bearing versions. The are certainly easy enough to replace.
