Hi everyone,

Just a heads up regarding this website. iPostParcels is the online booking system for UKMail. I would STRONGLY advise you do not use this company.

I booked for 2 parcels to be collected from my house and paid the extra cost to have them collected between 08:00 and 12:00. I had to leave the house at 12 as I had booked a half day from work. I waited and waited but nobody turned up. I tried numerous times to contact them, but they have no phone number - only an e-mail and postal address.

I had to leave for work, so I left the parcels outside incase they were simply running late. Just got home from work (5:10pm) and they're still sitting here. Logged into the website to check status and it just says "Awaiting collection" with an estimated date of today.

I've sent 4 e-mails and had no response. I am now out of pocket as I need to book another courier to sort this out. I have written to UKMail recorded delivery with all my e-mail confirmations and demanded a refund, but don't expect this will happen.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

UK mail, enough said!

I use parcel2go, a site which checks several companies like car insurance ones. Normally end up using TNT Express, as its £10.45 for turbo power size and weight packages next day signed for, its never gone wrong and I work for TNT (different department) but can pop downstairs and check stuff real time!

Try TNT, DPD or citylink next time. And check out the dispatches programme on UK mail...

Although slow, Parcel Force have been alright in my experience, if you can wait a bit longer than expected.

Jamie, I've had absolutely no problems using Royal Mail/Parcelforce but for some reason, with this particular parcel, they would not let me drop it off at my local post office as I usually do and it was going to cost £25 for Parcelforce 48. I was only sending a Lux 550. And to say the Turbopower, with tools, only cost £14 to send, I was shocked that it cost so much and that drop off wasn't available for some reason

Always had great luck with Parcelforce when sending goods, and their depot is easy for me to get to which solves the problem of waiting in all day for goods to be collected. I don't mind paying a little extra for the convenience, and knowing that the parcel will usually arrive on time at the correct destination. In the case of Ebay auctions the cost gets passed along to the winning bidder anyway so it makes zero difference to me personally. I know lower postage could theoretically result in more bids, but I'm not willing to deal with shonky couriers just so I can post something out for £10 rather than £15.

Speaking of shonky couriers, I have only one word to say on this matter. Yodel. Not once have they ever turned up to deliver or collect when they were supposed to, even second and third attempts often result in a no-show. I now refuse to buy anything from businesses or Ebayers who use this company, because it's just not worth the aggravation.

My Courier of choice...

Parcelhero all the way here so normally DHL... Have collected when booked every time and 24 hour signed for is about half of what Parcelforce want....
Seamus
Would never consider MyHerpes or Shittylink....
