Introduction

Hi all. I recently bought an Electrolux 1205 from ebay. I paid about $115 with shipping. After obsessively researching the thing I wound up here. Back in the early days of Reddit there was a guy who repaired vacuums for decades that did a few AMAs, and I always remember his advice that the old non-bagless canister units were the way to go. I needed another vacuum for my basement so I decided to procure one for myself.

I'm already considering buying another one, a golden jubilee 1205, just because it has the power nozzle with it, unlike the one I have. I don't even have any carpet but for some reason I want it for the sake of completeness. From what I've seen so far this looks like an awesome community here.
