If I am not mistaken "hammertone" or "hammer finish" would be the texture terminology.

If you mean a finish like below that's on a Hoover 300 where it is actually visibly textured and you can also feel it kind of like a potato chip - I have no idea what that is called. I'd like to know myself.

In all my years of collecting I've never seen a beige C-7 that was factory original. I have the salmon-colored C5 and C6, but never a C7. They were all turquoise as far as I know. This is my C-7

It's taupe. Also dusting off my CB to bring inside the house.

So, I am now looking for some light taupe for touch up.

I got the CB eons ago at a Goodwill Auction. Has everything including a package of Electrolux brand paper liner bags.

I had no idea they continued the 'salmon' (Interstate Engineering's word) so far in the '60's. The salmon C5 and C6 models were sold in Vac Shops and were even called "Compact Standard" as opposed to IEC Electra models in turquoise sold door-to-door. You have a rare one.

I think you're talking about wrinkle finish spray-o-namel paint.

Some of the vacuum supply companies use to sell it. It came in colors like Forest Green, Smoke Silver, Tropical Tan, British Brown, Opel Grey, Neptune Green, French Grey, Jet Black, Celestial Blue and Fire Red.

The Black Rexair model B were done in wrinkle finish.
Compact vacuums were also done in wrinkle finish.
Hoover used a brown wrinkle finish on some of their models.

The Silver Rexair model C were done in Silver Hammertone.

Update...

Going through some tubs I came across a set of clear/gold dust attachments and another turquoise set. I think the upholstery snap in piece is missing for the turquoise set.

I think the gold dust set belongs to the Burgundy Compact, I have yet to clean up. I will look at it to confirm that is the machine if the handle is clear/gold dusted.

As for the turquoise set, I must have got them off Ebay years ago.
