Fairly standard for the Canadian machines i have seen, this was one of the brands Ruth Hollander used to sell, Tom got it from her and I got it from him years ago.when he got it i believe it was brand new.

Similar..but

The deflector spins the air instead of deflecting it downward, so it does not plug up as quickly as a Silver King .

The filter paper isn't the same as a Silver King or Fairfax. It's actually a crinkled paper, similar to Air-Way bag material. The only thing I didn't like was how tightly the hose and wands fit together. But it's a really good and well made vacuum. And proof that there were 'bagless' vacuums before Dyson came along.

Re Wands..

I got another similar machine and those wands fit much better, I think they messed up a little at the factory on the others.

Watermatic, Gem, Switson, Valliant, Eaonia, Some Viking, Regina, Master Craft, Fairbanks Morse and quite a few others were initially made by Switson Industries then General Signal Appliances that took over Switson. All from Welland Ontario

I Knew

You would know who built it, Doug, thanks, these were great machines in my estimation.
