Another little find, i found and thought i would share it with you. It was polished on a buffing wheel! Let me know what you think!!

That Apex is a very cool machine. I have one too, but in unrestored condition. The handle has a VERY cool feature -- see the little button down just by the handle bale? You push it down and it releases the long handle from the handle bale, so that, due to the angled shape of the "connector arm" that attaches the handle to the handle bail, when you are sweeping you can steer the machine left and right by turning the handle grip back and forth!

Just called Stan Kann and asked-- he said this model sold from 1935 to 1940, it cost $39.95. The brush revolves backward (as a Singer R1 and the Premier Grand). He said it's a very quiet two-speed machine. There were two or three variations on this model - one did not have the swivel handle and was only one speed, then there was another with a different headlight "grille" in the front. He said for some reason they did not sell very well.

Just called Stan Kann? WOW! there's someting a person doesn't do everyday. I can't even get his email. I hear he is a nice guy...he is number one on my list to meet, has benn for a while!

Kyle...

That is a beautiful Apex...I especially like the design of the "grille" over the headlight. It just goes to show everyone that there are still plenty of treasures out there to be found.

Wow!

Guy you really have the luck for the unique and unusual.
I have seen pics of the Apex but never met one in person.
Hope you can bring it to North Canton next summer!
I did personally use and know of the model probably just
before that one. An older neighbor had one that looked
like a Eureka M, I never knew what year, was probably
about 1930, Help her a couple of times move furniture
and vacuum when I was 12 years. If I remember correctly
the one she had there was a swivel wheel in the back.
Much like to some of the 1920's Eureka straight suction
uprights!

I remember another neighbor had one from the late 40's/early
50's that was like the vacuum of the day we've seen a couple of times. I was very interested in how that rocker switch
worked in the handle. That must have been there trade mark
for a lot of models "back in the Day".
