I would like to know more about the Hoover Turbopower Junior U1100.

Iv'e heard that the very first ones on the production line had different handles that were prone to snapping/cracking and that Hoover quickly changed it to a more "beefier" handle. But I'm not sure if that is true or not.

Also, what would the original cloth bag look like on these?

Any information is greatly appreciated!

And no, I'm not wanting to start a row this time! Lol. (This is for the people who've had a run in with me before)

Sorry, but it's interesting that you "forgot" about that thread yet you pretty much quoted the exact wording from it.

This machine had to have handle modifications, as the original proved not upto the job and would snap after use. The original handle style can be seen in the first picture of this thread, with mine and Rob's machine below boasting the later beefier style...

@turbo500

I knew that thread "existed" if you will,as iv'e had a quick scroll through it before,but that was a while back.

Plus the "quotation" about the beefier handle, I had been told about that several times before by friends.

I can't establish what your point is

The point is that Paul's TP info is likely to be where Emma saw that piece of info, probably without realising it, given that what she'd said above was the same wording.

Emma - not to dwell on an earlier point, but this is exactly the point of being able to bring back old threads from archive.

My U1100 and later TP1 with a soft bag learnt the hard way of being stored in a cold and damp garage. Both handles broke off these. But when I think back I think it was just the handle to thin rectangular metal spine that was the problem in general. Never had that issue with the Juniors.

Oh well that's a relief. The way it came across to me, it had a ring of sarcasm about, which I was quite sure would never have been the case. Thank you for the clarification.
