I have a relatively old VacuFlo Central Vacuum Power Unit and I'm finding that the unit is discharging more dust out of the exhaust then I would like to see. I know that this kind of power units need to be vented outside but I use it only for my garage and my car so I don't want to throw an enormous amount of money into the unit to get it the way I want. I'm hoping you guys have an answer that would work for what I'm trying to do.

Honestly

Just vent it outside, having an afterfilter will eventually cause a loss of performance and add additional costs. If you're handy you should be able to do it yourself. just need the pipework, a cutter and some rubber cement for sealing.
