I'm pretty sure electrolux type c bags are NOT a rare find....

Not rare at all . . .

My granddad always said a fish would never get caught as long as he kept his mouth shut.

I can't see why, except for display purposes, anyone would buy or sell old consumables in the first place. Style C bags (new) as well as old Electroluxes remain in abundance. It's going to be a long time for any except the very oldest machines to thought of as rare. Aerus still supplies type C bags and I think they can even be ordered online. Being no longer in manufacture, the consumables really hard to come across are after-filters for machines prior the Model G.

There are unfortunately a lot folks who haven't a clue as to what they are acquiring and selling. They either attempt to fob off trash merely because it bears a well-known name or miss out on profit due to pure lack of knowledge (putting it kindly).

I haven't had a Lux in a while but have always found the genuine multi-ply bags the better deal. Single-ply bags clog up very quickly in a Lux but the authentic bags get you the most bang for your buck by way of bag fill. That's what made the earlier Luxes interesting. Everything -- machines, tools and even bags (dust wrappers) were designed with a purpose in mind.

You should probably send this person an email and ask if he or she is offering any deals for the Brooklyn Bridge.:)

Well....

What IS getting a little hard to find is Electrolux-branded "C" bags, for display purposes. I have a lucky-find stash of them, but other bags are used for daily-driving purposes.

I have both yellow-topped Electrolux-branded "C" bags, and the later grey ones.

That's quite true. Unfortunately, if I didn't have a lot or space to show off stuff at my last place, I've even less now. Were I to re-adopt an Electrolux today I'd probably be using it and would basically need new bags. Oddly enough regarding authentic consumables, I see more after-filters turn up for the XXX than later models.

My grandmother had a cache of 50 Electrolux-branded bags for her Diamond J (half yellow-top, half grey). It's going to be a looooooong time before I run out.
