The Vacuum Cleaner Musuem

Brad,

Have a great trip! Take lots of photos. The museum is an unbelievable place and anyone that enjoys vacuum cleaners will enjoy the visit. Especially with Tom Gasko as your guide.

tom's also great spokesperson & salesman for Tacony

My family and I visited last summer and enjoyed the museum. Although Tom is a wonderful curator for the museum, he's also a great salesman and spokesperson too. We purchased 3 vacuums while there.

The Museum is about an hour and a half from St. Louis, about 2 hours from the airport. Anyone flying should rent a car for the drive. It's worth it, as there are several vac collectors in St. Louis who own interesting vac shops that you'll want to see while you're here. Lambert Field is an international airport, they always have cars to rent. There is an inexpensive Green Stay hotel in St. James, MO where folks can stay. A car is a necessity if you're flying in. Book one BEFORE your flight.

A detour was needed.

I had to rearrange my return flight home due to a person who promises one thing , and then backs out at the last second , stranding me , leaving me in the cold , in a place I've never been, and then takes no responsibility for his part.
I will not be visiting the Vacumm Cleaner Museum , ever.
What a horrible way to treat a fellow vacuum lover, a fellow gay man , a fellow human Being.

I'm terribly disappointed, but not surprised.
I've learned a valuable life lesson.

The valuable lesson you SHOULD have learned was, at 45 years of age, to be able to rent a car. On Feb 4, I told you to RENT A CAR because you would NEED it. Yet, you arrived in St. Louis having NOT bothered to give me a phone call first, and expected me to pick you up two hours away at the last minute. Why didn't you just rent a car and come here. It's your own fault. This isn't the first time you've traveled. Be a man. Rent a car. It's not hard. St. Louis is an international airport. NO ONE who visits the museum EVER has me pick them up at the airport. I offered to open my home to you for FIVE DAYS free, so you wouldn't have to pay for a motel. I offered to feed you. And spend two days time, at work, with you. I never could have taken you back to the airport on Monday for your return flight as I work then too. You would have known that if you had CALLED ME.

Why in the world would a grown man fly to another country without having called his host (whom he has NEVER met)? Why would a grown man arrive at the airport and then NOT rent a car to bring him to his destination, instead throwing a fit about it. Glad you never got to meet me. I'm sure it's for the best. GROW UP BRAD.

So, for anyone who flys into St. Louis to see the Museum, you'll need transportation to St. James. I'm NOT a taxi service.
